Old Marylebone Town Hall Wedding Photographer

During my first wedding at Marylebone Town Hall as a wedding photographer I remember thinking oh wow! The staff were SO friendly and helpful and I LOVED the different areas where couples can have their wedding photography. I’ve included a selection below of some of the different rooms, the staircase outside and some photoshoot opportunities to think about in the nearby area. Oh and both posed and non-posed images to give you an idea, and hopefully some inspiration!.

The Old Marylebone Town Hall (also known as Marylebone Registry Office) was built on Marylebone road in London from 1914 to 1920, and is a grade II listed building. Its grand entrance, with its sweeping staircase, is decorated with columns inspired by classic Roman and Greek architecture. Which can make for some awesome wedding photography.

Amelia and Alex, the first couple in the images below, chose the Westminster Ceremony Room to have their wedding. It is the largest of the 7 register rooms and can comfortably fit 100 guests. It is ornately decorated with wooden wall panels and ceiling decorations. The natural light entering from the front facing windows beautifully lights up the couple as you can see from these photos..

The larger room at Old Marylebone Town Hall is perfect for larger wedding parties and can make for some effective moody lighting for wedding photographers..

Inside the Marylebone Room

Smaller but with TONS of classic features this wood-panelled room boasts an incredible fireplace and again warmer and more moodier lighting..

Wedding Photography inside the Paddington Room

The Paddington Room is Marylebone Town Hall’s smallest room and fits the couple plus maximum 8 guests. A dark room, it has a beautiful large carved fireplace and wood-panelled walls.

This room is a wedding photographers dream. Bright and airy the room also boasts a light marble fireplace feature and beautifully decorated with white flowers..

Walking out of Marylebone Register Office you’ll find my favourite little nook as a wedding photographer - out of the way and an intimate spot with gorgeous natural light!

Wedding Photography behind Marylebone Town Hall

Directly behind Marylebone Town Hall, just one minute walk away, there exists the cutest little street lined with mews houses , cobbled streets and plants. Great for some post-wedding photography!

Regents Park Photoshoot

One of the great things about choosing Marylebone Town Hall as your register office is that you can have your couples’ photoshoot minutes away at Regents Park, if you were looking for additional wedding photography that reflects nature too..

Looking for a nearby pub? Try The Allsop Arms round the corner on Gloucester Place. A friendly pub with a warm welcome. Perfect hang out place for your guests before or after the wedding.

If you’re in need of a nice hotel walking distance to the town hall try popular The Landmark Hotel. A 5-star rated hotel with everything you would need to get ready in before your big day.

Wandsworth Town Hall Weddings: Capturing Modern Elegance in Wedding Photography

As a wedding photographer based in South London, Wandsworth Town Hall is just a hop, skip and a jump away from me. Wandsworth Town is the perfect register office for most South London-based couples as its conveniently located, has stunning classical architecture and a variety of wedding-friendly pubs and restaurants in the area. It also has nearby King George’s Park for those couples wanting a bit of nature in their wedding photography.

My job as a photographer on the day is to arrive 30 mins before the ceremony to take pics of the groom, family and friends as they turn up. Gives us time (weather-permitting) to make the most of the historic front of the building and the small landscaped garden area..

Wandsworth Town Hall Wedding Photography

Wandsworth Town Hall boasts 5 glorious ceremony rooms and here’s some info and pics for each one..

Wedding Photography in The Elizabeth Room

I’ve shot quite a few weddings in The Elizabeth Room over the last couple of years. One of the smaller rooms and a max capacity of only 10 people (including witnesses, photographer etc), The Elizabeth room is none-the-less small cozy and intimate. This is the one with the leather sofas! So all-round comfort for your guests. The fee varies from £58.30 to £181.50 depending on the day of the week and includes a simple, intimate ceremony and exchange of rings. You can even have your civil partnership here too.

Wedding Photography in The Victoria Room

The Victoria Room boasts a 25 person capacity. Here you can have a choice of ceremony, choice of music and a reading. Weddings cost £207.90 for a weekday and £228.80 on a Saturday.

Wedding Photography in The Alexandra Room

The Alexandra Room is a beautifully naturally-lit room so results in some awesome wedding photography. Here you can make personal vows, have a friend or family member do a reading and there is an aisle to walk down after your ceremomy. The prices here varies from £240.90 to £305.80 depending on the day.

Wedding Photography in The Grand Chamber

If your wedding party is on the large side - and Flo and Mike’s this summer was just that - this is the room for you. As the name suggests, the Grand Chamber is just that. A capacity of 100 people (again including photographer, guests, witnesses etc) it is an opulant and very super impressive for your wedding photography. Price here for a wedding is £446.60 for a weekday and £588.50 on a Saturday.

Post-Wedding Photoshoot ideas..

Wandsworth Town Hall has the most gorgeous marble staircase and conveniently located on the way out!

After exciting there is ample time for friends and family to gather for confetti on the steps out the back of Wandsworth Town Hall and lots more natural wedding photography..

Leaving the Town Hall and we can wander to the park or go straight to the pub! Monika and Connor opted for a small wedding celebration at The Brewers Inn literally opposite!

Wedding Photography at The Bedford Pub | Balham

As a local wedding photographer it was an absolute joy to shoot my first wedding party in The Bedford Pub! A local institution and a fab backdrop for any wedding photography or party. Caroline and Goncalo have roots in Scotland and Portugal respectively, so you can imagine we were all in for an absolute treat at this one, with the most fun-loving guests, a ceilidh band and a DJ to see everyone through dancing til 1am. Champagne, the tastiest Portugese red wine (if ONLY I could remember the name!!) and birthday cake ON top of an incredible three-course meal (hats off to the chefs at The Bedford) were also several of the many highlights of the day.

If you hire The Bedford for your wedding you have the choice of several function rooms. As Caroline and Goncalo wanted to pull out all the stops they hired the lavish Ballroom which was able to cater for their wedding breakfast and their party..

Mike and Flo | The County Arms Pub Wedding Photography

Standing on the edge of Wandsworth Common stands the historic Victorian pub The County Arms. The pub dates back to 1852 and has various spaces inside tailored to events of all kinds. Weddings are particularly expertly catered for with a choice of two rooms and a large garden. Perfect for your pre-dinner alfresco celebrations.

Following their wedding at Wandsworth Town Hall, Mike and Flo and their guests arrived at The County Arms in style - hiring a popular Routemaster bus! On arrival the couple and their guests mingled in a sectioned off part of the garden (weather was amazing thankfully!) where I was able to capture some natural and fun wedding photography..

Meg and Tim's Tower Of London Wedding Photography

As a retired Royal Fusilier, Tim was able and priviledged enough to tie the knot to his beloved Meg, in the Tower of London Chapel, and make the most of the historical setting with some wonderful wedding photography.

Picture-Perfect: Best London Pubs for Wedding Photography

Pubs typically offer a more intimate setting than a traditional wedding venue. They are more laid-back and can make the day feel more personal and less formal. I’ve photographed couples at pubs where they had their first date. Making their wedding photography even more extra-special. Anyhow here’s a guide to some of the best London pubs for your wedding photography. In no particular order..

The Prince Albert, Camden

One of my favourite wedding pubs is the Victorian and award-winning Prince Albert in Camden. If you’re looking for a quintessential rustic pub wedding in London this could well be perfect for you. Two floors, two bars, and a beer garden provide plenty of room to host a fabulous wedding ceremony and or reception.

Dark wooden floors, large sash windows and emerald green tiles, this gorgeous space has lots of natural light and makes a PERFECT backdrop for your wedding photography. As a wedding photographer I’M TOTALLY IN LOVE WITH THIS SPACE.

The Prince Albert is available for full-venue private hire, or you can hire the first-floor function room on its own. Perfect for your wedding breakfast. Capacity is 50 standing or 105 seated.

The ground floor of the Prince Albert has room for a live band and DJ – and of course the dancefloor!

The Roebuck could well be one of Borough’s best kept secrets. Independently owned and loved by the locals, The Roebuck offers a broad selection of beers and ales from around the world, a freshly prepared menu full of locally sourced produce, and an easy going friendly vibe.

Tucked away at the leafier end of Great Dover Street, The Roebuck balances being a little bit off the beaten track with being incredibly easy to get to: Borough tube is less than a five minutes stroll away, whilst a ten minute fast walk connects you to both Elephant & Castle and London Bridge.

Built to imposing Victorian proportions, the large, airy pub boasts traditional charm. The incredible upstairs function room is perfect for your wedding breakfast.

With original wood flooring, an open fire and its own bar, this space exudes an atmosphere of comfort and character.

The Surprise Pub, Chelsea

The Surprise pub in Chelsea has been a local landmark since 1853, and gives off a warm, neighbourly vibe making it feel like home.

The building is steeped in naval history, taking its name from HMS Surprise, the captured French corvette used by the British Navy to sneak up on enemy vessels in the days of Admiral Nelson.

Just moments from Chelsea’s King’s Road, this beautifully refurbished freehouse serves good quality, well-priced, British-inspired cooking. Couples with an extensive champagne and wine list it is a perfect place for your laid-back wedding party.

Built in the 1800s as a brewery, on the site of a former coffee house, The Orange is said to be named after William of Orange. These days, the grand pub sits over 4 floors, positioned in the famed craft district of the Pimlico Road providing a stylish hub to eat, drink and celebrate your wedding.

The Main Dining Room

The Main Dining Room is great for larger family celebrations, weddings (including ceremonies) and corporate events.

The Ebury Room

Full of character and overlooking Orange Square, this light and airy space is perfect for drinks receptions and private dining. It even has it's own private garden terrace.

The Lordship Pub, East Dulwich

A popular local-pub feel in the heart of East Dulwich on fashionable Lorship Lane. The level of care here and hospitality is second to none. There is a sizable outdoor area with BBQ and a small barn where you can actually tie the knot too!

The County Arms, Wandsworth Common

Based in South London on the edge of Wandsworth Common you’ll get a warm welcome here! A large garden and two function rooms with decent pub-grub style wedding fare and an area for DJ/bands - what more could you want. :-)

The Bedford Pub is a total institution in Balham, hosting many regular events including comedy, bands, quizes, cabaret etc and is also a hotel with fifteen stunning bedrooms. It is a popular choice for many of the locals so best to book early!

The Bulls Head is a wedding venue located in Barnes, South West London. A Barnes institution with a privileged musical heritage, this venue is one of a kind. Situated right on the river and home to a buzzing jazz scene, the pub beams with style and laughter and has a brilliant variety of stunning spaces available for events of any size – from intimate gatherings to grand weddings. With a dedicated events team to help you plan your day, gorgeous fresh seasonal food, and an enviable wine cellar, The Bull's Head really does have it all.

The Melrose Room is a fantastic high-ceilinged space filled with old-world charm and captivating casual elegance. The complete flexibility of its layout makes it perfect for your celebration and can accommodate 40 seated and 70 standing guests.
