Old Marylebone Town Hall Wedding Photographer

During my first wedding at Marylebone Town Hall as a wedding photographer I remember thinking oh wow! The staff were SO friendly and helpful and I LOVED the different areas where couples can have their wedding photography. I’ve included a selection below of some of the different rooms, the staircase outside and some photoshoot opportunities to think about in the nearby area. Oh and both posed and non-posed images to give you an idea, and hopefully some inspiration!.

The Old Marylebone Town Hall (also known as Marylebone Registry Office) was built on Marylebone road in London from 1914 to 1920, and is a grade II listed building. Its grand entrance, with its sweeping staircase, is decorated with columns inspired by classic Roman and Greek architecture. Which can make for some awesome wedding photography.

Amelia and Alex, the first couple in the images below, chose the Westminster Ceremony Room to have their wedding. It is the largest of the 7 register rooms and can comfortably fit 100 guests. It is ornately decorated with wooden wall panels and ceiling decorations. The natural light entering from the front facing windows beautifully lights up the couple as you can see from these photos..

The larger room at Old Marylebone Town Hall is perfect for larger wedding parties and can make for some challenging moody lighting for wedding photographers..

Smaller but with TONS of classic features this wood-panelled room boasts an incredible fireplace and again warmer and more moodier lighting..

Walking out of Marylebone Register Office you’ll find my favourite little nook as a wedding photographer - out of the way and an intimate spot with gorgeous natural light!

Wedding Photography behind Marylebone Town Hall

Directly behind Marylebone Town Hall, just one minute walk away, there exists the cutest little street lined with mews houses , cobbled streets and plants. Great for some post-wedding photography!

Regents Park Photoshoot

One of the great things about choosing Marylebone Town Hall as your register office is that you can have your couples’ photoshoot minutes away at Regents Park, if you were looking for additional wedding photography that reflects nature too..

Mike and Flo | The County Arms Pub Wedding Photography

Standing on the edge of Wandsworth Common stands the historic Victorian pub The County Arms. The pub dates back to 1852 and has various spaces inside tailored to events of all kinds. Weddings are particularly expertly catered for with a choice of two rooms and a large garden. Perfect for your pre-dinner alfresco celebrations.

Following their wedding at Wandsworth Town Hall, Mike and Flo and their guests arrived at The County Arms in style - hiring a popular Routemaster bus! On arrival the couple and their guests mingled in a sectioned off part of the garden (weather was amazing thankfully!) where I was able to capture some natural and fun wedding photography..

The Asylum Chapel Wedding Photography

After learning about The Asylum Chapel and its history and unique backdrop for wedding photography, I was super-thrilled to be asked to be Jessica and Richard’s asylum chapel wedding photographer.

The Asylum Chapel, situated a short walk away from Peckham’s Queens Road Overground, is a breathtaking example of a wedding venue with stained glass windows, a high Georgian ceiling and a crumbling facade. For couples looking for a truly unique intimate and atmospheric location for their wedding and wedding photography this is the one for you!

History of The Asylum Chapel

Despite its name, The Asylum Chapel was not an actual psychiatric facility. Back in its day the word ‘asylum’ actually meant ‘sanctuary’ and was a home for elderly retired pub landllords. More like an almhouse which were important places for those Georgian and Victorian eldery who’s only alternative was the street.

The Asylum Chapel was established around 1827 and had many benefactors, whose memorials are still there, visible to this day. Despite being heavily bombed during the second world war, the carvings and glass stained windows survive to this day and The Asylum Chapel after some refurbishments, had been granted Grade II status.

And thanks to Maverick Projects the asylum chapel is available for events, art projects and weddings.

As I said, a wedding photographer’s dream! Here are some of my favourite images..

Hampton Court Wedding Photography - Aisling and Anthony

Hampton Court is a wonderful place to marry and also to arrange your wedding photography. I’m a natural wedding photographer and I’m in love with the historic features on offer in just one small area.

If you are looking to have your wedding photography in Hampton Court here are a few options you have:

The Mitre Hotel, Hampton Court

The Mitre Hotel situated just minutes walk from Hampton Court train station, is a gorgeous river-side hotel and wedding venue. Steeped in history and abosolutely fabulous for your wedding photography. The terrace overlooking the Thames is elegantly decorated with many plants and olive trees, giving it a very warm, mediterranean feel. There are also steps to go down onto the riverside with room for further seating for your wedding reception or event.

Hiring a boat?

Aisling and Anthony hired a boat to continue their champagne reception, and it made for some super-cute wedding photography. If you’re having a river-side wedding its well worth considering this little touch.

Check out these images I took of awesome Aisling and Anthony walking away from The Mitre and over Hampton Court Bridge..

Hampton Court Palace Weddings

If you’re a fan of romantic weddings with courtyards, gardens and sweeping staircases then Hampton Courth Palace could be the venue for you. There are four historic areas within the Palace to hold your wedding: Little banqueting House, The Garden Room, The Great Hall and the Orangery.
